Ninja Assassin!

In conjunction with victor yong's birthday, a few of us decided to buy him dinner at rakuzen at jln imbi last night, accompanied by a movie after that.

Since everyone watched 2012 already except me, and obviously there are guys, so new moon was definitely out of the list. It's like guys watching women's tennis match - not for tennis but for the girls. Well, let's not go there.

So finally we decided on ninja assassin starring the oh soooo hot rain... Although seriously, with that hairstyle, he looks like liu kang in mortal kombat... Which chicks don't dig. Anyway, since it was directed by the director of matrix (the wachowski bros if I've not mistaken) obviously the fight scene was... Spectacular... Apart from the lousy blood animations.. I thought b-grade movies have better looking blood.

The intro starts with sung kang (you would remember him from tokyo drift) getting a tattoo, with a bunch of japanese yakuzas in the room trash talking in english. I mean give me break.. At least have a few scenes in japanese, cos why would yakuzas want to converse in english among themselves?? Seriously? Anyway the rest of the guys in the room are pretty much lousy actors who can't even fake a decent laughter

And I was thinking... Ninjas are supposed to be japanese. Not koreans.

Anyway, it was a good movie overall, you may even say its a good comedy, but nothing's gonna be right in a hollywood flick when 60% of the cast are asians, because I think that when they took up the role they probably didn't understand how bad the script was. Or maybe, their agents are asians too who's not too good with english. They'd be saying to the their clients "whatever man! Hey, its hollywood!"

The lines are unexpectedly cheesy, or maybe it was the caucasian director's effort to make the movie more impactful... "Well at least people don't end up feeling like they just got out of jackie chan movie" cos nobody (even asians) understand jackie right?

The adrenaline rush is there, there's a plot and a storyline that flow thru, typical but at least you know, you don't come out puzzled at the end of the movie.. Which was good.

Its the typical hero learns martial arts, but master was too strict and killed the girl, hero gets angry, left the clan, being hunted by hundreds of minions but never get killed, then became stronger, meets his former friend-turned-foe and faces off and kills him before he gets to meet the boss, which he wastes half his life using useless methods to kill him but in vain, until he unleash his ultimate moves.

It's funny how that's really interesting, cos at first you feel alittle bit for the hero, and then the feeling starts to build up and by the end u get really really angry and when the boss was killed u get that feel good sensation.

I'd give 3 out of 5 stars for this movie

The most useful berry

As james yeang would have put it, whatever a blackberry can do, an iphone could do the same, and more. In my defense, the functions that the blackberry has regardless of what limitations it has compared to what an iphone is capable of, has served its purpose well.

well, I got a darn good deal with my blackberry and kudos digi, it was such a steal. So here I go about why it is useful to me:

1. It was meant for emailing since its inception, so the qwerty keyboarf made a lot of sense for speedy words input.
2. Keeps me connected all the time
- blogging while on the go (right now I'm on my journey back to kl)
- twitter on the go
- Msn, facebook, g-talk
3. Photo capture that can be instantly posted in facebook, email, msn, twitter. Saves you a lot of time when you see a product that you need/want to show to someone.
4. Blackberry messenger. Free instant messaging for blackberry users.

Now this is how the future of multitasking should be like. I've complained about not being able to focus my secondary t-shirt business but with push email, I am able to instantly open customer email request. I could track my website for products, all while I'm on the go.

A blackberry is created in a way where it is essentially a corporate mobile device as compared to an iphone, from the presentation of its simple but useful interface and functions to its elegant but practical physical presence.

It has to be one of the most easily understandable mobile phone where getting connected is a breeze.

I'm currently using the blackberry bold 9000

Have you ever... Experience a moment of pure serenity? A journey into deep thought normally motivated by problems and opportunities forgone..

But its far from simple to reach that state of mind... Its like that part of a movie where the guy drives on a free way at 80 miles an hour while the narrator speaks and the scene just slowly phases into silence... Just the narrators voice uttering his thoughts...

Lately, this sensation happens. It could be ego, or just compassion, purely human. As I move on, I hope I move along with new passions that could probably take this kinda feeling away soon.

I've been distracted by it, and I've found other distractions but maybe it just couldn't contain the excuses I've been fed with. If I could only understand it.. Let alone accept it. If only.

Well. Just. wake. me. up. when the morning comes from this sleep I am in.

does the world need another love song?

God bless James for telling me about that kick ass Digi package for blackberry last week. It couldn't have been better than that..

Well, it was all good and lucky on thursday.. But luck took a quick turn around and on saturday, my door knob broke and my bb got faulty.. I thought it was the worst day ever..

I haven't been spending quality time with my parents hassling over rhis bb shit and cos so many plans in the weekend.. But the people at digi totally rocked.. They couldn't fix my bb obviously cos they are not professionally trained to do so. But what amazed me was that they did not hesitate to give me a new set upon my request.

I've heard about other service provider that requested the user to wait 3 weeks for the set to be sent back to the head quarters which is in singapore. I have to say that I'm really lucky. God bless you digi prople!

What I have now ain't what I'm used to
But I guess I'm getting the hang of it
Cos I guess I'm never gonna get enough of the good stuff

We need to learn to give and take, from making them same mistakes
And that's how I know your place in me
Cos I guess I'm never gonna get enough of you

I know I was never good in showing how I feel
and I don't lie, u know its quite a deal
Cos I guess I really want the same from you
