I know there's always more than one way to say exactly what you mean to say

I thought six days would probably be too long for an island trip alone... turns out to be... its not! 6 days in Krabi only means that you can take your time resting, choosing what to eat, and choosing what to do the day after...the only thing stopping you from doing it is your hesitation.

Basically what you can do (which is what I did) in Krabi is. Upon reaching to the air port, (there's only one flight everyday which arrives in Krabi at 12.20) you'll board on a bus to either Krabi town or Ao Nang Beach. Unless you have plenty of time, do not go to town, go to the beach straight away, that's your whole point of coming here anyway. Do not take the taxi, take the bus there, its RM15 to go to the beach

So first day when you reach, you need to book a hotel, basically just go to a tourist centre, and ask for a hotel to stay, if you're gonna go budget just let him know, he'll get something for you. So I got this place for RM50, really good place, maybe just the interior that is not too beautiful (plain looking) but everything else is perfect. If you go to a resort, you'll probably need to pay for two persons part if you go alone. Aree Tara, Buri Tara, Anantaburin, Red Ginger are some of the nicer 3 star boutique hotels (expect to pay RM120 - RM170). So when I got into my hotel room, all I did was sleep till dinner time, cos I was already tired the night before with not enough sleep.
There's everything from Thai food to fast food to all sorts of western food.

Book for a tour on the first day, so you'll get your second day occupied. So get some sleep cos the tour would normally start at 8.30-9am. Tours you'll have to have to have to go: 4 Island tour would be a good foreplay to get into ignition, then the next day, go for 5 island tour, and end it with a climax tour of phi phi island... Its like multiple orgasm. (This may play up your expectations, but its really that damn good for me).

So maybe if you do have a free time, just take sometime rent a bike and get around town. Grab a map, get some fuel and get yourself going. It should take about half an hour to get to town longest. From there you'd probably just buy some stuff in town, then you'll get to Tiger cave temple (walk 1237 steps up and 1237 steps down - good exercise for a day) then you'd probably should go to the hot springs and crystal pool (part of the tour called unseen thailand which would probably cost you RM90) all this for just about RM40 if you go yourself.

I met up with this Swedish dude and we toured around town together and went to those places ourselves. The best thing about exploring is that you get lost here and there but we'll find it in the end. It was raining pretty badly and it was cold as hell we've just gotta stop to send the shivers away! The swim at the hot springs was damn good as today was a cold day, and then a bottle of Singha beer after the cold ride back to town really help! You'd probably be back to Ao Nang by 7-8pm. Its time to get a hot shower after.

Overall this solo trip is really... liberating. You think about alot of things when you're alone (I have my own agenda in this trip and have been thinking hard a few days and it became clear to me in the end) and you get to everything at your leisure. You hold some sort of responsibility for yourself, you've gotta get your trip worth going for, so you'll have to plan. And since you're all alone, this is the best time to make friends with other travellers and get to know their itinerary or where they're going next and you may just tag along or plan something out. You go for daring trips, get a map and get lost somewhere but when you find your way out, the sense of achievement really kicks in! Its like a personal development program, if you could call it that way... haha.

Ok there'll be pics once i get back. See you guys back in Malaysia on Saturday! Going for my last island tour tomorrow, i'll keep it all updated! Cheers!
