Health supplements

Health supplement products are now rather popular among urbanites probably due to their busy and hectic lifestyle and they now have "less time" to spend on other healthier things. However its not that I'd want to condemn this products but I'd say some are really not safe to be taken, although the lable says "Essence of Alfalfa" or something like that. Especially those sold thru direct selling. I have no offence against these direct sales exec but he/she wouldn't know what are the true contents of the products that they are selling. My friend who's working for a herbal company is selling a dozen kind of health products ranging from vitamins to weight loss products. Maybe these products work but there are certainly some drawbacks of consuming such products. I myself faced a problem probably due to supplements. Anyway back to the story, people claim that these supplements causes no harm to our health because they are simply vitamins and only contain natural ingredients (fruits, organic stuff) but little do they know that some items used in producing the vitamins may have some natural poisons such as, high uric acid levels in the items (high uric acid level can cause damage to kidneys and also gout). A doctor told me that some direct selling products are banned in much more advanced countries like the US and therefore they are being sold in third world and developing countries. We might not be aware of this but before planning to consume these supplements do seek a doctor and do extensive research on the products that you are eyeing on and don't just listen to what a promoter has to say. He or she may not have the knowledge and might not qualify to sell such products.

Ball Room Dancing

I was asked to be my friend's dance partner last week, so I kept my promise and turn up today for the lesson, and boy, it was damn fun. Something that I would recommend to those who wants to have fun and also as a form of exercise. It is considered a social dance which originated in the western world. Ballroom dancing is extremely famous and its performance and entertainment has been widely used in movies and theathres. I did not know that there would be such fun learning how to dance, eventhough I realized that my legs moved like a pair of chopsticks. The first lesson so far, I was taught the Waltz, and cha cha. The dance are quite challenging and difficult to master albeit the simple steps, maybe due to the fact that we dance in pairs and we have to make sure that the both of us are stepping at the right time. I had a really great time learning how to dance and it has been a truly unforgettable and funny experience. Almost all of us are newbies and yes we just can't stop knocking each other and I can't stop stepping on my partners shoes. Haha. Yes, I'm a terrible dancer and partner. And last but not least, Chia Ling, thanks alot for asking me to be your partner last week because if you didn't I wouldn't have met this thing called ballroom dance. Anyway I'd highly recommend this because its very very enjoyable and its healthy.

Excuses Excuses Excuses

We always give excuses when we can't do something, right? "Oh, I had to work until 6pm and I'm already exhausted" or "I'll come, I promise you!". Why do I even bother to write about this? Its because I think that Malaysians are FUCKING lazy people.. not all but mostly. People around me, they are always finding excuses not to fucking exercise (I hope by using profane words to reinforce the expression that I am portraying can fucking make people who are reading this a little bit more health concious). I just think that we should spend a little time to exercise maybe just 10-20 minutes a day, and that should do. People are giving all sorts of excuses like being too tired after work and do not have the time to do workouts, going to the gym is too costly, there are too many assignments to complete, or just playing LAME online games at home. Working people will always say they do not have the time as they are too tired to go on after spending 8 hours at work. But hey, when you were telling your younger brother your too tired after kindergarten to play with him, you'll say "you're not in kindergarten you wouldn't know how tired and exhausted I am, so don't be a little bugger and go play yourself!" and when you are in primary school you said the same thing, "you're not in school you wouldn't know... and in Secondary school "I'm too tired, I need a nap go away or find another friend" and in university, "you'll never believe how many assignments I need to complete by the end of this week". See, in life, history keeps repeating itself again and again.. and those excuses last until the day you die. We have to change, spending 20 minutes out of 24 hours is not too much to ask for right? If a gym is too expensive, jog around your neighbourhood for 20 minutes or cycle or swim or just walk.. just do it at least 3 days a week, and you're a fitter, healthier person. Maybe some working adults would say, "you're just a student you have no fucking rights to judge what I say" but my monday lecture starts at 9-12, 12-2, workout in the gym from 2-3, lunch at 3, ball room dance lesson at 4 and class from 5-7 and I even take 15 minutes to jog before I head off for dinner. Recently, I met a friend who is now a lecturer in Unikl, he used to be active but can't be so active anymore due to the workloads that he's having and the research that he is doing, but at least he knew "I know I shouldn't say this to you, all that I've said are just excuses". So pleeeasee, stop giving people FUCKING LAME excuses and just start exercising! Dammit!
